Essential Job Duties:
This position works directly with the Program Director to support the strategic implementation, daily operations, and continuous improvement of the inclusive postsecondary education program. The role provides leadership in program administration, staff supervision, compliance, student support coordination, and cross-campus collaboration to ensure high-quality program delivery aligned with University policies and mission.

1. Program Administration & Strategic Implementation (30%)

In partnership with the Program Director, the Program Manager will:

  • Support strategic planning, decision-making, and implementation of the inclusive postsecondary education program.
  • Lead coordination of the annual student admissions and orientation processes, ensuring timely review, communication, and onboarding of new participants.
  • Develop and maintain consistent, professional program communications across multiple platforms, including email, website content, in-person events, and social media.
  • Ensure ongoing program compliance with University policies, procedures, and relevant state and federal regulations.
  • Promote alignment and integration of the program with University departments, initiatives, and institutional mission through active collaboration and cross-campus engagement.
  • Organize and coordinate faculty, student, and staff training across campus to support inclusive practices and program participants.
  • Collaborate with Elevate and university staff to support course registration, academic access, and student success processes.
  • Collect, review, and synthesize program performance data to inform reporting, evaluation, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist in identifying program funding needs, including individual student scholarship support, and contribute to resource planning efforts.
  • Support recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention of highly qualified professional and student staff to ensure effective program implementation.

2. Staff Supervision & Coaching (25%)

  • Supervise and coach assigned staff within the Elevate/TELS organizational structure.
  • Conduct weekly or bi-weekly team meetings and individual meetings at least twice monthly.
  • Monitor progress toward individual and programmatic goals; provide constructive feedback.
  • Observe, attend, and debrief staff-led activities at least once per semester.
  • Facilitate meetings to review student performance data (including satisfactory progress and concerns).
  • Identify resource needs (e.g., funding, staffing, time, information) and communicate recommendations to the Program Director.

3. Academic Coordination & Campus Engagement (20%)

  • Collaborate with the Program Director, assigned faculty, and staff to ensure students enroll in appropriately distributed programs and inclusive courses aligned with academic and career goals.
  • Coordinate faculty, staff, and student training across campus to support inclusive practices.
  • Partner with university offices supporting course registration, accessibility, and student success.

4. Student & Family Support / Program Quality (15%)

  • Support communication with students' families in collaboration with program staff.
  • Assist with training and coaching peer mentors and coaches.
  • Support implementation of Employment, Social, Personal Development, Academic, and Independent Living components of the program.
  • Facilitate connections to campus and community partners in coordination with program coordinators and leadership.
  • Monitor student progress and engagement in collaboration with program staff, assisting in identifying areas for additional support or intervention to promote student success

5. Administrative Oversight & Operations (10%)

  • Oversee administrative processes to ensure high-quality implementation of program activities.
  • Maintain organized documentation, tracking systems, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Ensure operational efficiency and attention to detail in program execution.
  • Coordinate cross-functional communication with University partners to ensure operational support and timely resolution of administrative needs.

Other Work/Responsibilities:

  • Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the organization and evolving priorities.

Minimum Experience/Education:

  • Master's degree in Special Education, Inclusive Education, Disability Studies, Rehabilitation Counseling, Higher Education (with a focus on disability access), or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience supporting students with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) in a postsecondary, transition, or K-12 special education setting.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, or supporting individualized transition plans, person-centered planning, or inclusive academic programming for students with disabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising, coaching, or mentoring professional staff, peer mentors, or paraprofessionals working with students with disabilities.
  • Demonstrated success in leading administrative tasks, project management, team coordination, and professional communication within educational settings serving students with disabilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusion and student-centered practices.
  • Ability to supervise, mentor, and develop professional staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience/background, Transition Services, Rehabilitation Counseling, Disability Studies, Educational Leadership (with emphasis in Special Education), or related field.
  • Experience working within an Inclusive Postsecondary Education (IPSE) program or Comprehensive Transition Program (CTP).
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to disability services and transition programming (e.g., IDEA transition requirements, ADA, Section 504).
  • Experience supporting college students with IDD in areas such as academic access, employment readiness, independent living skills, and social integration.
  • Experience collecting and analyzing student outcome data related to transition goals, employment, independent living, and postsecondary participation.
  • Experience collaborating with campus disability services, vocational rehabilitation agencies, community partners, and families of students with disabilities.
