Caltech Sustainability is looking for an Energy and Sustainability Associate to facilitate the development of the Energy and Water Benchmarking program. This employee will primarily be responsible for building out Caltech's energy data repository in Energy Star Portfolio Manager, using data supplied by Caltech Sustainability. This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Sustainability.
Essential Job Duties
- Consult with sustainability, energy services, facilities, and other relevant Caltech departments on supportive measures for energy initiatives
- Enter data into Energy Star Portfolio Manager using the supplied metering data for campus utilities
- Assess lab buildings and offer suggestions to labs for reducing energy consumption
- Report to Assistant Director of Sustainability
- Participate in other energy and water efforts as needed
Basic Qualifications
- Working towards the completion of a high school diploma or higher education
- This occasional staff role offers variable hours, depending on departmental needs. Weekly hours may fluctuate between 4 and 16, with an expected average of about 10 hours
- Knowledge of data entry processes
- Demonstrated passion for sustainability efforts
- Attention to detail
- Good networking skills
- Leadership experience and attitude
- Ability to work independently
- Microsoft Office experience
