Energy Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor the energy usage and performs cost analysis; develops a strategic plan for University wide-energy needs; identifies building infrastructure problems impacting energy consumption; analyzes heating, cooling, ventilation, and lighting systems to determine optimum operating conditions.
- Reviews plans and designs for building construction and makes recommendations regarding energy conservation and appropriate technology to ensure efficient energy and environmental compliance.
- Conducts facility walk‑throughs through investment‑grade energy audits; develops and recommends operational and equipment strategies to maximize efficiency; and provides technical and administrative support for the operation, maintenance, and programming of energy management and controls systems.
- Advises and oversees facilities personnel and maintenance shops on energy‑efficient practices; coordinates energy efficiency studies; and supports planning, design, and construction by reviewing projects for energy conservation, environmental compliance, and appropriate technologies.
- Leading and managing all reports to deliver proactive, high-quality service across the university's facilities.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Bachelors degree in engineering, architecture, Building Systems or equivalent, and 5 years of experience in energy management or engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
7 years experience in energy management or engineering and a Certified Energy Manager credential or Professional engineering or Architecture license or equivalent. Managerial/supervisory or team leading experience strongly preferred.
