About the roleThe School seeks expressions of interest from experienced Academics or Clinicians who have a passion for teaching. We are looking for Sessional on campus tutors and clinical facilitators on an ongoing basis.A Clinical Facilitator acts as a university representative to provide support and mentorship to students whilst out on clinical placements. The role involves periodic casual work supervising students across various facilities in Perth and Sydney. The usual commitment is approximately 3 hours per week/per student for 3 out of the 5 weeks they are on placement.An Academic Sessional (teaching) makes a substantial contribution to the teaching program, particularly at the undergraduate level. The position requires preparation and coordination of tutorials and workshops, consultation with students, assessment marking and attendance at meetings as required by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator. The primary purpose of an academic sessional is to successfully run and manage their assigned tutorials or workshops within the discipline area.Key Responsibilities of the Clinical FacilitatorSupervise/support/mentor students whilst on placementIdentify students at risk, liaise with the clinical education team and the site supervisor to ensure appropriate supports and strategies are put into placeProviding both verbal and written feedback to the students about their performanceCompletion of relevant professional development/supervision training through the universityOther duties as identified by the Director of Clinical Education.Key Responsibilities of the Academic Sessional (Teaching)Conduct lectures/theoretical tutorials and/or workshops in consultation with the Program Coordinator.Consultation with students in relation to readings, weekly topics and assessment.Marking and providing feedback relating to assessment activities as set out by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator.Attendance at meetings as required by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator.Other duties as identified by the line managerQualifications, skills & experienceAHPRA registered PhysiotherapistSignificant relevant clinical experienceAbility to deliver quality learning and teaching practices in multiple modesExperience with the clinical supervision of students or relevant post-graduate studiesDemonstrated ability to deal effectively with individuals from diverse backgroundsKnowledge of, and experience in adhering to workplace policies and procedures in the areas of work health safety, equity, diversity and promoting a respectful workplace cultureExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to foster high levels of collegiality and ability to empathise with students.How to applyPlease apply online with a resume and cover letter outlining your suitability for the role.
