Job Description
Position Summary:
The Football Equipment Manager is responsible for assisting the Assistant A.D. for Equipment Operations with outfitting the team on an annual basis in accordance with team needs, safety requirements, and NCAA and conference regulations. This person will primarily be responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, and overseeing a pool of student workers, graduate assistants, and temporary/contracted workers to ensure program needs are met. They will also be responsible for the coordination of personnel and equipment to be used in all football practices and team activities. This individual will need an in-depth understanding of department injury and concussion protocols to act as a first responder when needed and will assist other support staff groups as necessary. They will additionally assist with the management of the football supply and equipment budget, as well as support the ordering process through GameOne and Nike’s Gameday platforms, as well as with additional outside equipment vendors. The Football Equipment Manager will travel to all contests with the team, including postseason and special events. The individual will need to be a team player and embrace the program’s goals, as well as flexible and willing to work the long hours this role requires.
Workplace Requirements:
This position’s hours will be determined by the team’s schedule and will require regular travel to away competitions. In addition, this position will be asked to assist in the set up and running of practices which may require moving equipment weighing up to 75lbs and spending significant time on one’s feet.
Workplace Location:
On campus position: This position is exclusively on-site, necessitating all duties to be performed in-person. Per Rice policy 440 , work arrangements may be subject to change.
*Non-Exempt (hourly) positions under FLSA are eligible for overtime.

Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Two or more (2+) years related experience working with a collegiate or professional program
