ERP SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Manager of Enterprise Data Services, is responsible for the efficient and accurate operations of the College’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. As an ERP Systems Administrator, this position will be working closely with user departments and serves in a crucial role analyzing and maintaining numerous computer applications. As the subject-matter expert, the ERP Systems Administrator troubleshoots and resolves system issues, helps document systems, and provides training and/or suggests sources of training. The position proactively monitors systems to ensure optimal, accurate operations and reports on systems that may need attention. The ERP Systems Administrator ensures systems integration to promote data sharing.
Essential Job Functions
- Ensures the integrity and usefulness of the ERP data by reporting on and following through on bad data in a timely manner.
- Analyzes data processing issues to improve computer systems and provides the EDS area staff and users with assistance solving ERP landscape-related problems.
- Works closely with user departments to help optimize the use of the College’s ERP systems, including addressing known issues and introducing new features and functionality.
- Researches and evaluates emerging technologies; recommends new solutions and develops subsequent cost estimates.
- Designs new applications and workflow changes to increase organizational efficiency and effectiveness, determining resource requirements for new and existing applications.
- Creates and modifies software programs to solve business problems related to the College systems. Coordinates with other College development resources to produce new software solutions.
- Implements enhancements provided by ERP system to streamline and improve end-user experiences and how the college’s data can be utilized.
- Writes user instructions; documenting the ERP system functionality and providing for user training.
- Collaborates with process owners to ensure proper ERP configuration and utilization of standard elements and processes.
- Develops testing procedures and perform testing to ensure systems work as expected.
- Installs and/or coordinates installation of ERP programs and operating systems; customizes systems to meet the needs of the organization.
- Monitors computer systems performance to ensure proper operation and verifies database and data integrity.
- Troubleshoots and fixes day-to-day software and hardware problems, diagnosing and recommending resolutions for larger, ongoing software and hardware issues.
- Works with each of the vendor support processes in order to 1) keep the systems up and running, 2) address known issues with each system, and 3) learn about and implement newly developed features and functionality.
- Will work with other I.T. professionals when researching, costing, implementing, and supporting the ERP landscape systems.
- Ensures efficient workflows and optimum business operations by creating a detailed procedures manual of work processes.
- Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses as required by the Manager of Enterprise Data Services.
- Contributes to the overall success of Enterprise Data Services by performing all other duties as assigned by the Manager of Enterprise Data Services.
