Job Description Summary

The Student Computer Technician is responsible for providing supervision and support for users of the college’s open computer labs. Provides technical assistance for college desktop computers, related equipment, and software applications in computer classrooms, labs, and offices.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a current PGCC student enrolled with a course load of 12 credits or more per semester with a PGCC grade point average of 2.50 or above.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of course INT -1010 (Introduction to Information Technology) or equivalent course is required.
• Completion of INT -1540 (Computer Hardware I) or equivalent course is required.
• Previous technology experience is preferred, but not required.
• PGCC Information Technology related major is preferred, but not required.
• Previous experience providing customer service is preferred, but not required.

Job Requirements

• Must have reliable transportation to fulfill scheduled work commitments. This includes timely arrival for the start of your shift.
• Must be available to work approximately 10 hours per week. The shifts will be agreed upon between the Student and Data Science, Innovation, and Effectiveness Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
• As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
