About the Role:
Passionate about creating opportunities that connect students with industry and real-world careers? As the Events Officer (Industry Engagement), you will support the Careers and Employability team across Perth and Kalgoorlie to deliver engaging events, programs and initiatives that maximise industry engagement and career development opportunities for Curtin students and graduates.
In this role, you will implement targeted content and communications to promote Careers and Employability initiatives and encourage meaningful participation from employers and industry partners. Through your work, you will help create valuable connections between students, graduates and industry, supporting employability outcomes and contributing to successful career pathways.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating a range of Careers and Employability events from end to end, including planning, budgeting, logistics, stakeholder engagement, event delivery, and post-event reporting and analysis.
- Developing and maintaining engaging content and communications for employers and external stakeholders, promoting Careers and Employability events, services and opportunities to connect with Curtin students.
- Creating and managing targeted communications for Curtin students that promote events, services and opportunities to engage with industry, build career capability and access employment pathways.
Who we are looking for (selection criteria):
We are looking for a motivated and organised events professional that brings a strong mix of coordination, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
You will also have:
- Proven experience in event management, including planning, budgeting, operational coordination, promotion and communications, event delivery, and post-event review.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet multiple deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging content across a range of platforms and tailor messages for diverse audiences.
- Well-developed problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond effectively and efficiently to issues, change and competing demands.
- Highly developed interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to consult, collaborate and build positive working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, demonstrating cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Role Requirements:
- As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role
