Strategic academic leadership opportunity to shape law and business disciplines within Australia's leading Catholic university. Full-time, fixed-term basis for a period of up to five years. Based at either ACU's North Sydney or Melbourne campus.

Reporting to the Provost, the Executive Dean, Faculty of Law and Business, provides strategic, operational and academic leadership across the national faculty, aligned with the University’s Catholic mission and strategic direction. The Executive Dean role will drive course innovation, enhance the student experience, and strengthen partnerships with industry and international Catholic institutions. The Executive Dean will also lead a vibrant academic culture by supporting impactful research and fostering excellence in teaching across business, law, and IT.

The Faculty of Law and Business consists of two key schools, the Peter Faber Business School, led by the National Head of Business and the Thomas More Law School, led by the Dean of Law, providing both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs across a range of business disciplines and law. Students benefit from the expertise of a distinguished faculty actively engaged in research, industry, and global academic networks. Through a focus on ethics, community engagement, and professional readiness, the faculty prepares graduates to lead with confidence and integrity.

The ideal candidate will hold a PhD and will be an experienced academic leader with a strong record of achievement in research, education, and academic leadership within the fields of law or business. The person will have a proven ability to lead with impact across teaching and learning, research and scholarship, professional activities, international education, and community engagement. With deep knowledge of the Australian tertiary sector, the Executive Dean will bring strategic insight and operational expertise to managing a diverse, multi-campus faculty.

The role requires significant experience in program innovation, change leadership, and resource management, along with a strong ability to build enduring partnerships both locally and internationally. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator and collaborator and be committed to advancing ACU’s Mission and values through ethical leadership and academic excellence.
