Executive Dean of the Faculty of Science, Medicine and Health
The University of Wollongong (UOW) is a research-intensive university ranked among the world's top 200, with more than 38,000 students from over 130 countries and partnerships with nearly 300 institutions worldwide. UOW has a strong track record in scientific excellence, industry collaboration, and widening participation in higher education.
Subsequent to our launching of a new strategy, Vision 2035, we are now seeking an Executive Dean of the Faculty of Science, Medicine and Health. Reporting to the Provost and sitting on the Vice-Chancellor's senior executive team, the Executive Dean will provide comprehensive strategic and operational leadership for the Faculty, in alignment with UOW's Strategic Plan.
The successful candidate will bring an international research profile, demonstrated academic leadership at a senior level, and a clear understanding of the current higher education environment.
The next Executive Dean will play a pivotal role in cultivating an organisational culture that transcends disciplinary silos to advance multidisciplinary research and a genuine commitment to teaching quality and student outcomes. The Executive Dean will inspire and steer faculty members towards achieving UOW’s strategic aspirations and collective purpose, reinvigorate the strategic direction of the Faculty, foster collaboration and innovation across all disciplines, and nurture mutually beneficial relationships with government agencies, professional bodies, independent affiliated research institutes, alumni, donors and community stakeholders. We are seeking someone with a genuine commitment to diversity and inclusion, and the ambition to build on the Faculty's existing efforts to create an inclusive and high performing culture.
