Job Description:

Reporting to the President, the Executive Director for Inclusion and Chief Diversity Officer provides strategic leadership to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging across all areas of the College. The Executive Director serves as the President's senior advisor on diversity and inclusion and oversees institutional compliance with federal and state civil rights laws including but not limited to Title VI, VII, and IX in conjunction with Legal Affairs, Risk and Compliance, and Human Resources. The Executive Director supervises the Title IX Officer and the Compliance Investigator and collaborates with the President's Cabinet, other members of the campus community, and the Long Island Educational Opportunity Center to foster a welcoming, respectful, and equitable campus climate. The Executive Director will be a part of the President's Administrative Team (PAT).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and assessment of the College's diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging plan.
- Provide leadership and oversight to the Title IX Officer and Compliance Investigator, who also serves as the Title VI and VII Coordinator, ensuring consistent and compliant handling of all civil rights, discrimination, and harassment matters.
- Develop and deliver training programs on diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and compliance topics, including Title VI, VII and IX, civil rights and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Create and help manage relevant programs within the realm of inclusiveness.
- Chair the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Council and manage related programming and budgets.
- Administer the Campus Climate Survey and develop actionable recommendations to enhance inclusion and belonging.
- Oversee investigations and resolutions related to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and bias complaints in collaboration with Human Resources and other offices.
- Seek external collaborations and support including relevant grant opportunities, federal, state, regional, corporate and private.
- Serve as the campus ADA Coordinator and prepare required compliance reports.
- Represent FSC within the SUNY system-wide network of Chief Diversity Officers and maintain awareness of best practices in higher education.

Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of a Master's degree.
- At least seven years of progressive responsibility in a leadership role related to diversity, equity, inclusion, higher education, and/or human resources.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to affirmative action, civil rights and equal opportunity.
- Experience working with metrics, data, and reports to inform decision-making.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments and divisions within a large organization.
- Demonstrated leadership in the creation and delivery of organization-wide training programs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in higher education.
- Successful experience in gaining external grant support.
- Experience engaging with local and regional communities.
- Knowledge of economic opportunity programs.

This is a full-time M/C position.
