Job Summary/Basic Function
The Director of Admissions is the chief recruiting officer for the University. The Director provides leadership for admissions and recruitment functions; is responsible for developing and maintaining systems to strategically recruit first-time freshmen, international, and transfer students; and fully participates in and wholly supports the division of Academic Affairs.
Essential Duties:
- Executes and evaluates the recruitment strategy for first-year, transfer, international, readmit, and non-degree seeking students in order to achieve enrollment goals.
- Hires, trains, mentors, and supervises undergraduate admissions staff including exempt, non-exempt, and student employees.
- Develops strategic goals and actions, in collaboration with the Admissions team, Marketing and Communications, Financial Aid, Housing and Residence Life, and other key stakeholders, to achieve enrollment goals.
- Develops and maintains strong professional relationships with constituents, including high schools, community organizations, professional associations and the campus community.
- Coordinates and implements training for designated Admissions staff and campus personnel who represent the University at recruitment activities and events.
- Responsible for budget management, oversight, and resource allocations.
- Provides University-wide leadership in international federal regulatory compliance and advisement; analyzes, interprets, and applies federal regulations pertaining to International Students ensuring compliance.
- Responsible for ensuring successful campus visits and orientation events by overseeing staff in charge of those events.
- Fosters an office environment that empowers staff to provide exceptional service to prospective students, provide solutions, and execute student-centered practices.

Minimum Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
- Four years or more of progressive experience relevant to work in an accredited higher education admissions office
- Demonstrated experience and ability to mentor, work, supervise, and lead a team
- Experience working with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Higher Education Administration or related field
- Six years or more of progressive experience relevant to work in an accredited higher education admissions office
- Experience working with Technolutions Slate CRM
