Exhibitions Project Manager

The Fitzwilliam Museum: Opening up the past to transform our futures.
As the principal museum of the University of Cambridge and the largest cultural venue in the region, The Fitzwilliam Museum acts as a crucial bridge between the University, the City and the rest of the world, and has an international reputation for extraordinary research, world class exhibitions, award-winning public programmes and significant collections spanning many cultures and centuries. The Hamilton Kerr Institute (HKI) is one of the world's leading centres for teaching and research in conservation and heritage science.

Temporary exhibitions are where the Museum meets its audiences directly. They are integral to how the Fitzwilliam delivers on its mission and are a core output of its research activities, often involving collaboration with researchers from the wider University and beyond. The ambitious and innovative programme of exhibitions and displays are designed to transform and enhance the visitors' experience and engagement with the collections. They will be developed as a precursor, and incubator for ideas, leading to the Masterplan.

We invite applications for an Exhibitions Project Manager who will be responsible for managing allocated exhibitions and display projects from creative inception through to delivery, across departmental teams and external contributors to an agreed scope and following museum approval stages and reporting procedures.

The successful candidate will be assigned to specific projects and will act on initiative and most often independently to identify key issues and drive through activities to a successful and timely conclusion. They will ensure these outputs match the Museum's aspirations and are delivered collaboratively and with rigour, paying close attention to scope, quality, programme and budget.

In return, we offer a supportive and inclusive workplace, a generous pension scheme, substantial holiday allowance, and a range of employee benefits, including retail discounts.
