Extension Agent - Sevier County
Tennessee State University Office of Extension Services invites applications for the position of Extension Agent 1. This position is based at the Sevier County Extension office, in Sevierville, Tennessee. The extension agent is responsible to the County Director for administrative and program matters. The agent will spend approximately 80% of their time with adult horticulture programs and 20% of their time with 4-H youth programs.
Duties include:
- Plan, execute, and evaluate the Master Gardener Educational Series program
- Participate as a member and Extension liaison of the Sevier County Master Gardener Association
- Plan, execute, and evaluate horticultural and 4-H programming based on a local needs assessment
- Plan, execute, and evaluate horticultural programming for both home-based and commercial horticultural clientele
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with education officials, related agencies, community groups, horticulture-related businesses, and the general public
- Plan, execute, and evaluate programs, events, and activities related to 4-H through traditional 4-H clubs, project groups, educational workshops, camps, conferences, and special interest classes
- Assist in recruiting, organizing, training, and supervising both adult and teen volunteer leaders
- Assume other duties as necessary due to vacancies or as assigned by the Program Leader or TSU Associate Dean of Extension
- Conduct programs and activities that meet the needs of eligible participants regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, age, disability, or sexual orientation.
