Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting an External Engagement Manager (Work-integrated Learning) to join the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Hub team on a 12-month fixed-term, full-time contract. Flexible working arrangements are possible.

Key responsibilities:

  • Foster a network of industry and community partners, supporting faculty and school staff with engagement approaches for sourcing WIL opportunities.
  • Act as single point of contact for all external enquiries from organisations, triaging to appropriate areas.
  • Develop processes for sharing external contact information within the University that appropriately safeguards these relationships.
  • Support the implementation of WIL systems to effectively manage external organisation and contact data.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will be a motivated, customer-focused individual who can take the initiative, provide excellent administration and policy compliance.

Key requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in engaging with industry professionals.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or 5+ years of experience in work-integrated learning practice or a closely related field (e.g. career sector experience).
  • Demonstrated experience in building and managing collaborative partnerships in designing and delivering services that align with strategic initiatives and achieve organisational objectives.
  • Demonstrated excellent organisational skills and the ability to effectively plan, prioritise and manage multiple workstreams and activities across a mixture of responsive and longer-term tasks.
