Classification: ANU Officer 8 (Administration)

Salary package: $121,359 - $129,772 per annum plus 17% superannuation

Terms: Full time, Continuing (2 positions)

Position overview

The mission of Campus Environment Division is to "Enable academic excellence at ANU through integrated and innovative facilities and project delivery." The two key portfolios are Commercial Planning & Strategy and Operations.

The Operations portfolio has the responsibility for managing and coordinating the delivery of operational services within the Division. This includes delivery of Capital works for the University along with management of the functions Asset Maintenance, Campus Operations and Security.

The Facilities Manager – Cross Campus plays a critical role in leading a team of technical staff and contractors to deliver high-quality property services across a designated zone of the ANU campus. Reporting to the Cross Campus Manager, this role ensures buildings are safe, operational, and aligned with the University's service standards.

You will work closely with Campus Environment teams and College stakeholders to plan and coordinate services, implement technology and process improvements, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation. The role also involves data reporting, budget support, and driving continuous improvement in service delivery.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience, including tertiary qualifications and/or a strong background in facilities or property services management within complex environments.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage and mentor a team, coordinate contractors, and deliver high-quality services across multiple sites.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with internal and external partners.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills, including the ability to prepare clear, accurate reports and correspondence, and communicate confidently across diverse audiences.
  • A results-driven mindset, with experience in budget management, service delivery optimisation, and implementing operational improvements aligned with strategic goals. Experience in a higher education or similarly complex environment will be highly regarded.
