Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT
At Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT, our aim is to be a hub for innovative health research, education, and workforce development across the Northern Territory. We engage with students, community, and stakeholders to provide critical programs, such as the Northern Territory Medical Program, Paramedicine, Rural Clinical School, and the University Department of Rural Health.
Our postgraduate education pathways (Remote Health Practice program), provides workforce development through Indigenous health and clinical skills training, and we have a community driven research program led by researchers committed to improving health outcomes. We work alongside Poche SA+NT focussing on Indigenous leadership capacity development and developing the Indigenous health workforce. All activities are driven by our values which focus on the long-term and short-term needs of the NT community.
About the Role
The Facilities Officer plays a key front-line role in supporting the daily operations of rural campuses and student accommodation across the Northern Territory. Working under general direction, the position ensures a positive and welcoming experience for students, staff and visitors by overseeing facility services, coordinating maintenance activities, supporting WHS processes, and managing accommodation workflows. This role is hands-on, customer-focused and integral to maintaining safe, functional and engaging regional campus environments.
- Coordinating day‑to‑day operations across regional campuses, including student accommodation tasks, inspections, changeovers and occupancy monitoring.
- Supporting the management of contractors and maintenance activities, including scheduled works, reactive repairs and building services.
- Delivering front-of-house support, WHS orientation, and security/access coordination for staff, students, contractors and visitors.
- Managing inventories, purchasing supplies, coding invoices, and coordinating fleet vehicle servicing and bookings.

- Well‑developed administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to exercise informed judgement and manage conflicting priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the capacity to prepare clear reports and professional correspondence
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively within a team and engage with diverse internal and external stakeholders
- Sound knowledge of administrative systems, software and organisational procedures, with the ability to interpret and apply policies within a complex environment
