Department: Operations & Maintenance – Cabarrus County
Locations: South Campus (Concord, NC), NCRC Campus (Kannapolis, NC), and CBTC Campus (Concord, NC)
Status: Full-Time, Staff | Open Until Filled
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is hiring several Facilities Services positions to support the operations and maintenance of our Cabarrus County campuses. We are seeking dedicated individuals who take pride in maintaining safe, efficient, and well-functioning college facilities.
We currently have openings for the following positions:
- Facilities Services Supervisor
- Facilities Services Technician I
- Facilities Services Technician III

Facilities Services Supervisor
Salary: From $54,075.39 annually (Exempt)
Summary:
The Facilities Services Supervisor coordinates facility operations and maintenance activities while supervising skilled, semi-skilled, grounds, and housekeeping staff. This role includes managing building automation systems, work order systems, and preventative maintenance programs; overseeing contractors; purchasing supplies and equipment; and monitoring budgets.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associates degree in a field related to facility operations and maintenance
- Four (4) years of facilities operations or maintenance experience
- Equivalent education and experience may be considered
Key Skills:
Supervisory and leadership ability, knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance, HVAC controls, safety procedures, budgeting, recordkeeping, and strong communication/interpersonal skills.

Facilities Services Technician I
Salary Range: $34,324.18 – $39,472.48 annually (Non-Exempt)
Summary:
The Facilities Services Technician I performs a variety of skilled maintenance work related to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. The role includes maintaining college buildings and equipment and safely operating vehicles and machinery. Technicians may also enroll in the colleges apprenticeship program for career growth and pay advancement.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid NC Drivers License with good driving record
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience in building, mechanical, or general maintenance
Preferred: HVAC experience
Key Skills:
Knowledge of building maintenance, repair methods, basic recordkeeping, and computer proficiency for work order and preventive maintenance systems.

Facilities Services Technician III
Salary Range: $39,938.38 – $45,929.75 annually (Non-Exempt)
Summary:
The Facilities Services Technician III performs skilled maintenance, repair, and construction work for HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and building structures. Duties include planning and coordinating projects, performing installations and repairs, inspecting systems for safety and efficiency, and maintaining logs and records.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- Five (5) years of facilities maintenance experience
- Valid NC Drivers License
Key Skills:
HVAC, plumbing, and electrical maintenance; construction and repair; preventive maintenance; and use of building management systems.
