Job Summary
About the Facilities Technician I position:
The Facilities Technician I position is a part of our Physical Plant: Campus Services department within the Facilities Planning and Management Division (FP&M). As the Facilities Technician I, you will be involved in a large number of duties behind the scenes on campus. Campus Services has a team of Facility Technicians who perform functions such as departmental moves of furniture and equipment, window washing, assisting the Electric Shop with basic lamp replacement, and construction clean-up. In addition to playing an important role in the set-up and tear down for UW Commencements and other large-scale events, they also provide a table and chair rental and delivery service for numerous smaller campus events. As a flexible and efficient labor force, they also provide support to various trade shops.
This position will also utilize bucket trucks and boom lifts to perform window washing of all campus windows inside and out at heights of up to 160 feet with proper safety gear. Campus Services will also utilize lifts and ladders to reach heights as high as 60 feet to replace lightbulbs in Auditoriums, Atriums and Gymnasiums.

This position is full - time, 100%.
Hours generally scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00AM to 3:30PM. Occasional nights, weekends and holidays may be required for this position.

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with the relocation of Campus Equipment as needed
- Perform routine inspections of Campus Equipment
- Assists with routine facility inspections and monitors cleanliness
- Escalates and documents issues according to established policies and procedures
- Assists with inventory and distribution of deliveries to appropriate entities under close supervision
- Assists trades, crafts, vendors, and technical staff with construction, design, and operational maintenance as needed
- Sets up and tears down equipment for institutional meetings and events
- Utilizes basic equipment to repair and maintain basic machinery, equipment, and facility property under close supervision to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation

Compensation:
$ 20.50 hourly minimum
The minimum rate for this position is $20.50.

Required Qualifications:

Education:
