Facility Maintenance Electrician

Position Overview

Join the Ramily! Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrician to join the Facilities Maintenance team for the Department of Housing & Residence Life.

The Electrician is a critical role which will support the maintenance and repair of electrical systems within our student housing facilities, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for our students and staff.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing inspections of electrical system equipment and facilities
• Installing, maintaining, and repairing secondary electrical systems and related equipment
• Maintaining and troubleshooting electrical components such as conduit, wiring, electrical panels, breakers, switchgear, magnetic starters, disconnects, and motors
• Troubleshoot and repair control systems
• Completing scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on emergency generators and automatic transfer switch gears
• Repairing and maintaining lighting systems
• Respond to service requests promptly
• Managing work orders in Team Dynamix
• Adhere to safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations
• Support Plumbing and HVAC repair and maintenance
