Coordinate and process efficiently students' application materials for the two-week, faculty-led programs and other short-term programs run by the Gordon-Zeto Center to destinations in Africa: Ghana (Accra), Morocco (Rabat), Rwanda (Kigali), and other new faculty-led programs, which include Spain (Madrid), Kenya (Kisumu), and South Africa (Cape Town). Familiarity with Terra Dotta is essential. Maintain knowledge of all short-term programs including other travel opportunities provided by Spelman partnership engagements and proactively discuss components with applicants. Provide logistical, marketing, and operational support for department-led programs to the following destinations: Japan, South Africa (Cape Town), Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, Paris Noir, and Cosmetic Science France (Paris and Nice). Coordinate community-wide passport fairs and serves as liaison to the Atlanta Passport Agency, Emory University, Georgia State University, and the AUC schools in the coordination of the passport fairs. Coordinate and monitor program fee payments made by selected students and collaborate with the Bursar's office to track and reconcile installment payments. Monitor attrition rate of selected students and coordinate replacements with students on the waiting list. Coordinate group flights through the College's travel agency and monitor students' installment payments for airfare. Serve as one of the main contacts with study abroad providers for all travel logistics including coordination of pre-departure orientation. Maintain accurate yearly records for campus global engagements, especially faculty/staff internationalization activities (international conferences/workshops attended, site visits to study abroad programs, research travel etc.) and internationalization of the curriculum. Maintain student international travel database which involves; data entry, tracking of all international student travel data, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the data. Assist with the management of the summer study travel programs' budget (access to banner - read and review only and review of expenditure reports for faculty travel to destination countries); Maintain the International Travel Authorization Data Registry and extracts travel information, as needed. Design surveys using Qualtrics and data processing of all surveys (pre-departure, post- study abroad, specific study abroad program evaluation) and rubric guides associated with the assessment and evaluation of study abroad programs. Serve as liaison for data collection from other entities on campus. Maintain the database for campus global engagements, especially faculty/staff internationalization activities (international conferences/workshops attended, site visits to study abroad programs, research travel etc) and internationalization of the Curriculum. Maintain all Partnership Agreements/MOUs approved by the Snr. Vice Provost for Global Education, Provost, and President. Assist the Snr. Vice Provost for Global Education in data extraction, variable transformation and definitions, data analysis using SPSS (or any other data analytical software), data interpretation, presentation of results using graphs/tables, and dissemination of results. Assist the Snr. Vice Provost in grant proposal writing, grant management, and grant reports (quarterly, mid-year and year-end), including the HBCUs' Title III grants funded by the Department of Education. Required Qualifications
A bachelor's degree (preferably in the Social Sciences) or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Must possess a strong ability and interest in data analysis.
Strong interpersonal, excellent writing and time management skills, and the ability to multitask are essential. Incumbent must maintain a professional demeanor with the ability to work diligently to ensure deadlines are met. Must possess the ability to interface with internal and external customers (domestics and international) with diplomacy and tact are essential. Independent judgment is necessary to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload with attention to detail. This position requires good analytical skills and must be detail oriented. The ability to work effectively under pressure, be proactive, demonstrate initiative, and promote teamwork are key assets of this position.
Excellent oral communication skills are required when presenting information and responding to questions from internal and external customers in one-on-one or group situations. Incumbent must be able to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, grant requests for proposals and procedural manuals.
The individual must have advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite and must have experience writing business correspondences (memos, emails and letters), revising grant proposals, creating tables, graphs and Power Point presentations.
Preferred Qualifications
A recent graduate with study abroad experience in cross-cultural communication and a strong desire to learn and develop a career in international education is preferred.
