Essential Qualifications/Experiences

A PhD or MFA in Game Design and Development, Digital Media Arts, Digital Media Technology, Digital Creativity, or a closely related field. Candidates with an MFA must possess demonstrable experience in the industry, showcasing a portfolio of work that reflects their expertise. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in teaching, particularly those who have contributed to the development of curriculum and educational materials in their field. Proficiency in game design software and tools, as well as a strong understanding of programming languages commonly used in game development (e.g., C++, C#, Unity, Unreal Engine). PhD supervision capacity; Excellent publications record in an area of expertise; Evidence of success in obtaining research grants; Fluency in English.

Successful applicants to more senior professorial ranks are expected to also show: A significant record of high-quality academic publications, A number of external research grants awards, Experience in PhD supervision.

Research Funding Support

The university provides every new faculty members with Research Development Fund to empower newly appointed staff to develop their initial or most recent research projects, to encourage the production of research with significant impact on audiences both within and beyond the academic community, and to create pathways leading to the award of competitive external funding. The university will also support all faculty members to apply for national, province and city level programs. These programs aim to support excellent scientists, both Chinese and non-Chinese-citizen, to work and carry out research in China.
