Faculty Positions
The Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology invites applications for a faculty position at all levels and in all areas of chemistry, biochemistry, and chemical engineering. Candidates with strong commitments to research and teaching excellence are encouraged to apply. The term for an initial untenured appointment is four years, and the appointment is contingent upon completion of all requirements for a Ph.D. Exceptionally well-qualified applicants at the tenured level will be considered.

Applications should include a curriculum vita, publication list, a description of proposed research, and three letters of recommendation. Applicants should also submit an education statement that addresses the applicant’s teaching interests and thoughts on classroom and laboratory instruction, mentorship of students and postdoctoral scholars, and ways to support the development of scholars who come to Caltech with many different backgrounds and experiences. Salaries for professorial faculty at Caltech fall in the range of $125,000 to $400,000. Applications should be received by December 1, 2025.
