We are seeking an organised, proactive, and collaborative individual to join our Quality and Standards team as a Faculty Quality Officer. This role suits someone passionate about supporting high-quality academic provision and confident working with academic and professional services colleagues in a dynamic environment. Faculty Quality Officers ensure effective implementation of the University’s quality assurance and enhancement systems across multiple Faculties. You will support course approval and review, external examining, professional body engagement, and committee processes, maintaining accurate records and helping to deliver consistent, timely, and robust quality assurance activities throughout the academic year.
Key responsibilities include:
Quality Assurance Support:
- Coordinating and tracking quality assurance activities across Faculties throughout the annual cycle.
- Supporting course and partnership approval and review events, including document preparation and secretarial support.
- Providing administrative input into course modifications, exceptions processes and the maintenance of accurate course information.
- Facilitating the set-up of definitive course and unit data within the student record system.
External Examining and Monitoring:
- Monitoring external examiner reports, responses and terms of office, and supporting External Examination Committee activity.
- Assisting in the coordination of PSRB accreditation activity and monitoring processes.
Governance and Committee Support:
- Acting as secretary to Faculty Teaching Quality and Standards Committees (FTQSCs), including preparation of papers, minutes, action tracking and maintenance of decision records.
Guidance, Training and Collaboration:
- Providing advice and training to colleagues across Faculties on the application of the Academic Quality Framework.
- Maintaining quality records and supporting preparations for internal and external review.
- Building productive relationships across the University to support a positive and collaborative quality culture.
This role would suit someone with strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team. Experience within a professional administrative role, particularly in Higher Education, would be an advantage.
