To support the ongoing development of its Premed and MD programs, as well as academic and research activities, New Anglia University invites applications from highly motivated and outstanding candidates for faculty positions in Basic Sciences and Clinical Sciences at the ranks of Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor.
Appointment Type
Positions may be offered as:
- Full-time or part-time appointments
Appointment periods for the School of Medicine are as follows:
a) Professor: 4 years
b) Associate Professor: 3 years
c) Assistant Professor: 3 years
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be expected to:
- Develop and deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, and laboratory sessions in their field, with a particular emphasis on applications in medicine and healthcare.
- Contribute to curriculum development and ongoing improvement of academic programs.
- Develop and apply innovative teaching and learning methods to improve student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Conduct student assessments, including exams and academic performance evaluations.
- Offer academic mentoring and advising to students, including guidance on medical education and healthcare careers.
- Engage in quality assurance activities, such as preparing for accreditation and providing relevant academic documentation.
- Work with colleagues from different fields to promote interdisciplinary teaching and research initiatives.
- Lead or contribute to research projects, academic publications, and grant applications.
- Participate in program administration, academic committees, and institutional service activities.
- Support community involvement and professional outreach.
Workload will typically include a combination of teaching, research, academic service, and (where applicable) clinical duties.
Academic Rank Expectations
Professor
- MD, PhD, or an equivalent terminal degree.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant academic experience.
- Outstanding record in teaching, research, and academic leadership.
- Published articles in peer-reviewed journals and proven experience as a researcher.
- Strong teaching and mentoring skills.
- Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- A sound understanding of and passion for the subject matter.
- Willingness to work long hours and travel frequently.
- A growth mindset and excellent networking abilities.
Associate Professor
- MD, PhD, or an equivalent terminal degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant academic experience.
- Proven academic record, including publications in peer-reviewed journals of significant impact.
- Excellent research, teaching, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to engage and collaborate with a range of professionals and students.
- Commitment to excellence in the field.
- Professional attitude and strong work ethic.
Assistant Professor
- MD or an equivalent terminal degree.
- Demonstrated potential for research and academic work.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant academic, teaching, or clinical experience (preferred).
- Proven academic excellence, demonstrated through publication(s) in peer-reviewed journals.
- Strong research, teaching, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to engage collaboratively with a diverse range of professionals and students.
- Commitment to excellence and continuous professional development within the field.
Clinical Sciences – Additional Requirements
For Clinical Sciences positions:
- A valid medical licence or professional registration is required where applicable
- Candidates should have a minimum of 2–5 years of clinical practice experience (depending on rank)
- Registration must be from a recognised jurisdiction (e.g., United States, United Kingdom, or equivalent internationally recognised systems)
Definition of Equivalent Qualification
For the purposes of this call, an “equivalent qualification” refers to a recognised terminal academic or professional qualification in the relevant field that is comparable to an MD or PhD and demonstrates the candidate’s suitability for an academic appointment in the relevant discipline.
