Senior Lecturer OR Lecturer Nursing (First Nations)

The University of Southern Queensland (UNISQ) School of Nursing and Midwifery aims to be recognised for its contribution to outer-metropolitan, regional, rural and Indigenous health, achieved through our contemporary, innovative, inclusive and transformative approach to nursing and midwifery education, relevant clinical experience, scholarship and research.

As a result of this commitment, we are excited to invite applications for First Nations Academics in the role of Lecturer OR Senior Lecturer Nursing. This role will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of innovative nursing programs that are relevant and responsive to the needs of the communities in which we work and live. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for student and community engagement, with a focus on advancing the knowledge and practice of nursing that support our First Nations communities. Empowering students to think critically, practice safely, ethically and compassionately and using research as a basis of best practice decision making.

About You 

Appointment to the role as a Lecturer Nursing in the School of Nursing and Midwifery will be key in driving ongoing student excellence in nursing education. Foster innovative research and contribute to the best practice aligned to the strategic goals of the university. 

As an emerging academic, you are a passionate clinician, motivated by collaboration to deliver relevant educational programs to ensure the future of the nursing profession. You acknowledge the benefits of fostering an inspiring learning environment that encourages students in all our communities to excel in their academic and post university professional pursuits. 

•   A Master's or enrolment in a Master’s, in an area relevant to nursing.

•   Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without condition;

Salary: Total remuneration range $128,506 to $151,889 pa (includes salary range of $108,581 to $128,339 pa based on full-time equivalent, employer superannuation contributions up to 17% of salary and annual leave loading)

Appointment to the role as a Senior Lecturer Nursing in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, you will be highly committed to teaching excellence and have an established research profile within the area of Nursing, with a capacity to lead community and professional development initiatives.

You will deliver engaging lectures, develop innovative curricula, and contribute to cutting-edge research in nursing, complimented by strong personal and professional ethos of integrity and compassion. You embrace the benefits of working as part of a collaborative and supportive team.

•   It is essential you hold a doctoral qualification 

•   Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without condition;

•   An established profile in teaching and research in the discipline area.

•   A strong track record of course coordination and participation in the development and continuous innovation of new programs, curriculum design and course material in the discipline area.

Salary: Total remuneration $154,745 to $177,892 pa (includes salary of $132,287pa to $152,045 pa, employer superannuation contributions of 17% of salary and annual leave loading)
