Finance Coordinator
The Finance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring finance transactions are completed in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with all applicable institutional, UNL, State, and Federal regulations, policies, and guidelines.
The Finance Coordinator will:
- Review purchases, standard contracts, individual journal entries and internal charges, batch journal entries and internal charges.
- Processes checks in QuickBooks.
- Provide guidance for purchases, provide financial review and approval of travel expenses and basic funds management.
- Work closely with SOFS groups and employees, as well as functional office staff, providing a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions.
- Hire, train, and lead student workers supporting the SOFS office.
This position functions under general supervision and is expected to utilize technology to provide professional services.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma plus three (3) years of related finance work experience; OR
- Associate degree plus one (1) year of related finance work experience; equivalent education/experience considered.
- A willingness and demonstrated ability to learn new hardware and software systems.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with rules and regulations, including HIPAA and FERPA guidelines on the disclosure of information.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships within and outside of reporting lines.
- Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of finance terminology and practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
- Experience functioning in a team environment.
- Experience with SAP or large integrated finance system.
- Experience with creating and maintaining Excel equations and Macros
- Knowledge of federal and state laws and guidelines related to business practices
