POSITION DETAILS
Brooklyn College is soliciting applications for a Finance Manager for the Brooklyn College Foundation. Reporting to the Comptroller, the Finance Manager will serve as the Associate Director of Finance and manage financial matters for the Brooklyn College Foundation. Under the guidance of the Comptroller, this role manages financial planning, reporting, compliance, and investment-related functions while ensuring accuracy, transparency, and adherence to institutional and regulatory standards.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, typical duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Manage preparation of unitization model for endowed funds.
- Reviews financial documents, coordinates annual audits, and supports preparation of Form 990.
- Provides support for the BCF Audit and Finance Committee, including preparation of reports, governance documentation and minutes.
- Prepares quarterly and annual financial statements. Prepares cash flow analyses, financial projections, and other analytical reports.
- Serves as liaison to investment consultants and financial institutions.
- Oversees the implementation and continued adherence to NYP MIFA (New York Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act).
- Analyzes restricted accounts (e.g., scholarships, professorships) and collaborates with development staff on unrestricted budget matters.
- Assists in the implementation and maintenance of CUNYfirst and budget planning systems to ensure data accuracy and effective reporting across the campus community.
- Reviews current accounting processes, internal controls, and financial standards; recommends and implements process improvements in collaboration with the AVP/Comptroller.
- Supervises full-time and part-time staff.
- Administers and maintains records related to Gifts-In-Kind for subsequent transfer to Brooklyn College. Coordinates property documentation and supporting materials with Brooklyn College Foundation staff and Brooklyn College Internal Audit Department.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Comptroller.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Four (4) years of related experience in accounting, finance, or a comparable field.
- Experience within a higher education financial or accounting environment.
- Background in financial analysis, report preparation, and compliance oversight.
- Strong project coordination skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, hands-on environment.

- Advises management regarding funding appropriateness and proposes fiscal solutions to resolve academic and/or administrative issues
- Develops and recommends policies and controls to assure the responsible use of resources
- Supports strategic planning processes; assesses outcomes and makes recommendations regarding resource allocations
- Prepares and manages production of statistical/analytical reports pertinent to financial and operational activities
- Assists in developing budgeting policies and procedures, and interprets University-wide policy
- Liaisons with auditors and other internal and external agencies as necessary
- May negotiate contracts
- May hire, supervise and train finance and/or clerical staff and manage related administrative functions
- Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$94,909 - $102,408; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
