We are seeking an exceptional leader to take on the role of Finance Transformation Programme Director - Systems Implementation, responsible for delivering a new financial system (Oracle Fusion) by May 2027 within a £67.61m budget. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of financial planning, reporting, and decision-making across a world-leading institution.

About the Role

As Finance Transformation Programme Director - Systems Implementation, you will lead the Finance Transformation Programme (FTP), overseeing the delivery of both system and non-system benefits. You will drive strategic integration across programme components, champion change management, and ensure the new system delivers fit-for-purpose tools and processes that support smarter, data-driven decision-making.

You will work closely with senior academic and institutional leaders to build advocacy and engagement, ensuring the programme is aligned with broader transformation initiatives and delivers lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of Oracle Fusion and associated tools for budgeting, planning, and reporting.
  • Embed new decision-making frameworks in collaboration with senior stakeholders.
  • Oversee delivery of non-system benefits including invoice automation and streamlined financial processes.
  • Provide strategic oversight of the programme budget and governance.
  • Build strong networks across academic and professional communities to support change.
  • Lead a team of ~60 staff, fostering a high-performance and inclusive culture.
  • Ensure high-quality reporting and insight to senior governance bodies.
  • Collaborate across transformation programmes to ensure alignment and shared learning.

About You

You will be a strategic and operational leader with a proven track record of delivering complex finance transformation programmes. You'll bring:

  • Deep experience in programme delivery, change leadership, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong financial acumen and governance expertise.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior academic and institutional leaders.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to building inclusive, high-performing teams.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 August 2027 in the first instance.
