Financial Leader
Mō te tūka | The role
We are seeking applications for a financial leader to oversee group financial reporting, treasury, and compliance functions. Leading a team of up to eight direct reports, you will play a key role in strategic planning, systems improvement, and team leadership—ensuring high-quality reporting and financial governance across the University and its entities. Some tasks of the role include:
- Leading the preparation of annual and monthly financial statements
- Managing audits, tax compliance, and fixed asset accounting
- Overseeing treasury operations and investment strategies
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling
- Leading and mentoring a high-performing finance team
- Driving continuous improvement in systems and reporting
- Ensuring efficient and effective management of payments and receivables transactions
Permanent role, 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE) at our Lincoln Campus. Salary is circa $170,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role
You will have:
- CA qualification and 7+ years' post-qualification experience
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and NZ GAAP
- Proven experience in financial reporting and treasury management
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder skills
- Advanced Excel and financial systems expertise
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with attention to detail
- Alignment with Manaakitaka and Lincoln University values.
