Mō te tūka | The role

We are seeking applications for a financial leader to oversee group financial reporting, treasury, and compliance functions. Leading a team of up to eight direct reports, you will play a key role in strategic planning, systems improvement, and team leadership—ensuring high-quality reporting and financial governance across the University and its entities. Some tasks of the role include:

• Leading the preparation of annual and monthly financial statements
• Managing audits, tax compliance, and fixed asset accounting
• Overseeing treasury operations and investment strategies
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling
• Leading and mentoring a high-performing finance team
• Driving continuous improvement in systems and reporting
• Ensuring efficient and effective management of payments and receivables transactions

Permanent role, 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE) at our Lincoln Campus. Salary is circa $170,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role

You will have:

• CA qualification and 7+ years' post-qualification experience
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and NZ GAAP
• Proven experience in financial reporting and treasury management
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder skills
• Advanced Excel and financial systems expertise
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with attention to detail
• Alignment with Manaakitaka and Lincoln University values.
