First Peoples Optometry & Vision Science Lead - Senior Lecturer (Identified)
Employment Type: Part-time (21 hours a week)

Remuneration: $155,403 base (+17% superannuation, leave loading)
Location: Kensington campus, NSW (hybrid and remote work arrangements also considered)

The Opportunity
This position will be based in the Blakcademy, Faculty of Medicine & Health and plays a key role providing leadership and supporting the School of Optometry & Vision Science to implement the First Peoples Cultural Capabilities Health Curriculum into undergraduate and post-graduate programs.
Key skills and experience required:
- This is an identified position, and applicants must be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
- A PhD in a health or education related discipline, and/or relevant work experience, or the willingness to enrol/current enrolment in a relevant PhD.
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design using a range of First Peoples pedagogical approaches.
- Experience of implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
- Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement.
- Demonstrated experience with industry or work-integrated learning.
- Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact.
- Experience in successfully recruiting and supervising high calibre students.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
