- Part-time (37 hours per week shared across vacancies)

Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
You will promote, prescribe, and deliver fitness programs and services to help clients improve their health and lifestyle. Your role also includes teaching small-format classes, supervising and maintaining clean, tidy training areas, providing facility tours, covering reception breaks, and assisting with the overall management and safety of the UC RecCentre.

We’re passionate about helping every member feel confident and supported on their fitness journey. We deliver education and training through a variety of programs, such as small group intro to exercise sessions, personal training, and group classes. You’ll play a key role in guiding members from their very first steps in the gym to achieving their long-term goals.
You’ll need to be comfortable coaching one-on-one and in small groups, using a range of training methods. Alongside exercise instruction, you’ll provide fitness and wellness advice, ensuring members feel safe, supported, and motivated, especially those who are new to the gym environment.
Mōu | Who You Are
You have experience as a Fitness Consultant (both floor supervision and fitness programming) and hold a current First Aid qualification. You are dedicated to ongoing fitness education and professional development.
You have plenty of initiative, an uplifting energy, and a willingness to go above and beyond.
Qualifications Required:
- New Zealand Certificate in Exercise (Level 4) or higher,
OR - A bachelor’s degree in sport science, exercise science, and/or physical education.
It is important that you have a commitment to deliver safety conscious programmes and attitudes to all work and a love of meeting and connecting with members in the gym.

The team delivers positive and holistic health, fitness, sport and wellbeing programmes to the student community, where UC believes that sport and recreational experiences for students forms an integral component of the UC experience.
