Flight Instructor - Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)-14
Flight Instructors are responsible for delivering quality, professional flight instruction in a CFR 141 environment using a detailed training syllabus. Teaching responsibilities consist of flight related courses such as private, instrument, commercial and multi-engine, CFI/CFII ground schools and aviation safety. The flight instructor is responsible for the safe operation of aircraft in which flight instruction is being given. He or she determines the student’s proficiency and reports back to the Assistant Chief Instructor on their progression. Information of a confidential nature regarding students, fellow employees, or F.I.T. Aviation, LLC must be treated as such.
Responsibilities Include:
- Must have the piloting and people skills necessary to be an effective teacher
- Must be able to provide good customer service to the student pilot
- Must possess excellent organizational and cognitive skills
- Must be able to read, understand, and interpret instructions and information using the English language
- Must be able to effectively communicate new concepts to students and develop methods for ensuring the pilot can demonstrate an understanding of the concept once taught
- Must be able to pass and maintain a FAA 1st or 2nd class medical exam and maintain that same physical condition in order to continue working as an instructor
- Maintain an 80% student pass rate on first attempt and an 80% completion rate per semester
- Will be required to pass standardization and proficiency checks throughout tenure with FITA; Additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Chief or Chief Instructor
Requirements Include:
- CFI position- CFI and earn a CFII within 60 days of hire
- CFII position- CFI, CFII
- MEI position- CFI, CFII, MEI
- Federal Aviation Authority Safety Team
- Civil Air Patrol
- National Intercollegiate Flight Association (NIFA) competition
- Ability to work with individuals from diverse cultures
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven results-oriented and self-motivated work style
