Responsibilities: Position Summary The Food Service Supervisor – Assistant Manager coordinates daily café operations by upholding high operational, customer service, and food safety standards while providing hands-on guidance to team members during assigned shifts. Supporting the General Manager, this role keeps shifts running efficiently by delegating tasks, managing workflow, operating POS transactions, and serving as the primary point of contact for operational needs during service hours. Primary Responsibilities Shift Coordination & Workflow (30%): Lead floor operations, assign daily tasks, adjust workflow to meet volume demands, and support Baristas, Service Leads, and Product Leads during active shifts. Direct Customer Service Execution (25%): Prepare food and specialty beverages, process point-of-sale (POS) customer transactions, and address customer inquiries or concerns promptly. Compliance & Shift Safety (20%): Enforce strict compliance with Health Department regulations and University policies regarding food safety, sanitation, cash handling, opening/closing tasks, and shift transition procedures. Operational Monitoring & Reporting (15%): Track station readiness, inventory levels, product quality, and team timekeeping; document shift notes and escalate operational concerns to management. Staff Training & Quality Control (10%): Onboard and train staff on standard operating procedures while actively reinforcing quality standards for both food and service. Required Minimum Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or GED. Prior experience within a café, food service, hospitality, or retail environment. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods during shift hours and lift up to 30 pounds. Preferred Qualifications: Experience: Prior experience in a lead, supervisory, or trainer role within a café, food service, hospitality, or retail environment.
