This position is located in Central, Alabama
The Alabama Cooperative Extension System is seeking qualified applicants for a Forestry, Wildlife, and Natural Resources Extension Agent - Central Region of Alabama. This position is a 100% Extension assignment covering nine counties. The Agent will most likely be housed at the Chilton County office, with St. Clair or Shelby County offices considered as secondary alternatives.
Program Priority Area: Forestry, Wildlife and Natural Resources
Geographic Area of Responsibility: Central Alabama Region (St. Clair, Jefferson, Shelby, Bibb, Chilton, Autauga, Elmore, Lowndes, and Montgomery Counties)
Responsibilities
- The Forestry, Wildlife, and Natural Resources Extension Agent will serve as the primary Extension educator for forestry, wildlife, and natural resources in the assigned ten-county region.
- Proactively develop a regional technology transfer program through meetings, workshops, publications, web sites, and other outreach techniques.
- Be part of a state-wide Extension Priority Program Team.
- Utilize all available/emerging technologies in their educational efforts.
- Participate in writing grants and participate in activities that support applied research/demonstrations.
- Participate as a cohesive team member working with local clientele, advisory groups, volunteers, and other interested parties.
