Basic Function

Kern Community College District accepts applications for part-time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis. The starting salary range is $67.00/hour.

Representative Duties

The successful candidate will be expected to provide instruction in a full range of French courses including, but not limited to, Elementary French and Intermediate French depending on institutional needs. This assignment may include teaching at other campus sites, day, evening or weekend classes, large classes, distance learning, and multiple teaching methodologies. Other duties include: participating in student recruitment and articulation of programs; maintaining subject matter currency; developing and revising curriculum; using computer and multimedia technology; assessing student learning and program level outcomes; collegially participating in department, college, and discipline-specific professional activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's in French; OR Bachelor's in French AND Master's in another language or linguistics; OR The equivalent. A demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
