  •       $ 75,439 to $ 86,992 per annum (HEO5)
  •       Plus 17% employer superannuation
  •       Salary packaging options are available
  •       5 weeks annual leave plus Christmas week shutdown, per annum,

About the role

The School of Science and Technology has an opportunity for a Technical Officer to join our small team of technical staff providing operational support for our core business of teaching and research. The principal responsibilities of the role are to support teaching and research and the management and maintenance of facilities and equipment in the fields of physiology, biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology, microbiology, histology and related scientific fields. The role is embedded in a team where our values of Respect, Responsibility, Trust and Innovation underpin our collaborative working culture. The role will be focused on the operations in the Discipline of Biomedical Science but will routinely contribute across the School.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Qualifications and skills that will be directly applicable in the support and facilitation of teaching and research in Biomedical Sciences, for example in physiology, biochemistry, pathology, histology, cellular biology, biotechnology.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work in a cooperative team where personal integrity and respect for others are requirements.
  • Demonstrated work ethic, self-motivation and organisational skills where you proactively identify and prioritise day-to-day tasks and long-term goals and where efficiency and task completion are always key objectives.
