FT Assistant Professor - Building Construction & Construction Management

This position will teach courses in Building Construction and Construction Management, which may include courses in materials and methods, construction technologies, mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems, , sustainable construction, , and construction contract law, consistent with current developments in the discipline and teaching methods. The incumbent will work with the Construction Management, Building Construction, Architecture, and Civil Technologies programs with a focus on continual improvement of programs and learning outcomes. Other duties include tutoring and advising students, mentoring and reviewing peers, and participation in curriculum/course development, program/department meetings, divisional/college-wide committees and College initiatives. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population and work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy. Teaching assignments may include daytime and/or evening hours. *Regular on campus presence is expected for **all** LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.* *LCC policy requires all LCC employees to be residents of the State of Michigan and to perform all work (with limited exceptions) within the State of Michigan.* *Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.*
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years relevant experience in residential/light commercial construction field; OR Associate's Degree in a related field and four (4) years relevant experience in residential/light commercial construction field OR High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience in residential/light commercial construction field. Michigan Builders License.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum two (2) years teaching experience in construction or closely related field. Certified OSHA 10-hour/30-hour instructor. Professional accreditation/certification as a LEED AP, PE, CPC, CxA, or other related credential. Experience in obtaining and managing private and public grants.
