The Institute for Applied Mathematics of the Faculty of Science at the University of Bonn invites applications for a tenured Full Professorship (W3) in Probability Theory.

We seek internationally renowned scientists with outstanding track record in probability theory and related fields. The successful candidate is expected to actively participate in the broad research activities of the institute and to further strengthen them. In particular, the successful candidate is invited to join the newly established Collaborative Research Center CRC 1720 “Analysis of criticality: from complex phenomena to models and estimates” and to become a member of the Hausdorff Center for Mathematics, a Cluster of Excellence recently approved for the next funding period by the German Science Foundation (DFG).

Teaching in all phases of the degree programme must be conducted in German and/or English. Candidates should have a strong teaching record. Knowledge of the German language is not required, but is expected to be acquired in the course of the first years. Participation in academic administration is expected.

The general conditions of employment are according to § 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen).
