Full-time Academic Position in Media Design and Immersive Technology

Department of Journalism and Communication, Hong Kong Shue Yan University (Academic Year 2025/2026)

The Department of Journalism and Communication is inviting applications for the post of Full-time Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Associate Professor of Practice / Professor of Practice. Rank will be commensurate with academic and/or professional background and experience. Candidates should have a master / doctorate degree and demonstrate abilities to teach effectively at the undergraduate level in at least one, but preferably more of the following areas in Media Design and Immersive Technology:

Foundation: User Experience Research Method, Digital Communication

Media Content Design: Interaction Design, Media Content Design and Storytelling, UX/UI Design, Design and Thinking

Extended Reality (XR) Immersive Technology: Coding (C# / C++), Game Engines for Game Development (Unity/Unreal), AR/VR/XR Application Development, Generative Artificial Intelligence in Media Design, 2D/3D Character Model Design, 2D/3D Animation, Sound Production

Media Business: Entrepreneurship and Media Design Development

Preference will be given to applicants who have substantial tertiary-level teaching experience and a good track record in research and publication. Proficiency in English is required, while proficiency in Chinese will be an advantage. The appointment is contract-based, commencing in January or September 2026 and renewable upon mutual agreement.
