Position Summary

As a Fundraising Assistant, you can build your career while strengthening the efforts of our UCLA Health Sciences Development (HSD) team. As one of the most comprehensive and advanced health care systems in the world, UCLA Health is at the cutting edge of biomedical research, with our physicians and researchers pioneering work across an astounding range of disciplines. In this role, you will provide fundraising support for a wide variety of our health sciences programs. We are looking for a Fundraising Assistant with strong administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills to support our HSD team and gain hands-on experience to grow in an environment designed for medical and scientific innovation. In this role, you will learn about fundraising and building meaningful relationships with donors and colleagues by assisting with scheduling meetings, drafting correspondence, responding to inquiries, managing information, and travel planning if needed. This is a great opportunity to make an impact as you provide critical organization and planning skills to our team, hone your customer service skills, and work on a wide variety of projects that support our programs and initiatives. Salary & Compensation

*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications

  • Ability to learn and deliver customer service skills such as interacting in a friendly, professional manner and responding quickly and appropriately to requests. (Required)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. (Required)
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, take initiative, be resourceful and make decisions. (Required)
  • Ability to research, gather, analyze, and synthesize information from sources such as online searches, databases and files. (Required)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships. (Required)
  • Ability to work as part of a team, be detail oriented, organized and meet deadlines. (Required)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and to use discretion. (Required)
  • Proficiency with business software such as Google docs, Google forms, Word, Excel, and Outlook, and databases. (Required)

Special Conditions for Employment

  • Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
  • Must be able maintain a reliable and predictable work schedule including ability to work occasional evenings and/or weekends as needed. (Required)
