Gastroenterologist: Physician Scientist
The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the Department of Medicine at Stanford School of Medicine seeks a gastroenterologist as Assistant or Associate Professor in the University Medical Line. The Division has had a long track record of wet-bench research in gastroenterology and hepatology. We are interested in enhancing our scientific portfolio with up to two translational researchers to carry on the Division’s scientific mission. The scope of the investigative interest of the researcher is broad, with respect to organ specificity (or lack thereof), scientific discipline, or methodological expertise.
The successful applicant should have MD or MD/PhD degree and demonstrable record of scholarly achievement including the ability to conduct team science by collaborating productively with other investigators and clinicians in a sustainable fashion. The candidate must possess or be able to obtain a California medical license at the time of appointment, as well as board certification/board eligibility in gastroenterology. As a physician-scientist, the candidate is expected to have demonstrated excellence in patient care.
The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

The expected base pay range for this position is: Assistant Professor - $292,000 - $329,000; Associate Professor - $344,000 - $366,000. This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
