An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Governance Administrator to join the Education Policy Support (EPS) team on a permanent basis. We are a small central department of the Academic Administration Division at the University of Oxford, responsible for delivering robust education governance, policy development, student casework, and effective quality review informed by student data-driven insights. By connecting central teams, divisions, and departments, EPS advances policy, drives continuous improvement, and supports delivery of the University’s education mission across governance, planning, and change management. It facilitates better decision-making and strategic change at the University.

About the Role
EPS is looking for a Governance Administrator to be a key member of the team, responsible for supporting the efficient day-to-day running of the department. This will include being responsible for governance and casework-related administration; maintaining our online policy and regulations; and coordinating departmental activities.
The post-holder will be a key interface with a range of internal contacts, in particular with those in University Departments and Colleges. They will need to build strong relationships across the different parts of the University in order to manage and coordinate complex meeting and other arrangements, often including numerous busy stakeholders.
This is an exciting opportunity for a flexible, friendly, and service-orientated Department Administrator/PA who is keen to turn their hand to developing and improving administrative processes across a varied range of responsibilities while supporting a small but critical department at the centre of the University’s education decision-making processes.
About You
You will be educated to A-level standard or have equivalent experience of providing administrative support to a team, demonstrating excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing demands and prioritise tasks.
You will have demonstrable experience of reviewing, developing and implementing new administrative processes. You will have excellent oral communication skills, and well-developed interpersonal and diplomacy skills, demonstrated through building trusted working relationships and networks. Excellent skills in standard office IT systems are essential, together with the ability to learn new systems quickly. You will be able to work flexibly both as part of a team and on your own initiative.
