We are recruiting a Governance & Quality Assurance Coordinator who has experience of working to Standard Operating Procedures in a controlled environment, e.g., medical care or clinical research as well as knowledge and understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), the UK Data Protection Act and the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research. You will need excellent communication skills and attention to detail as well as sufficient experience and confidence to work autonomously including prioritisation of tasks to succeed in this role.

About the job:
The role holder will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that:
- The NIHR BioResource is compliant with UK Regulations, including the Human Tissue Act (HTA) and the UK General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act across the national recruitment sites and its programmes.
- The research is undertaken in accordance with the protocol(s), the principles of GCP and within the boundaries of ethical, Heath Research Authority and R&D approvals.
- Policies and procedures are developed, implemented and updated when necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks (e.g., GCP) and to meet the requirements of the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit.
Ideally you will have:
- Experience in reviewing and writing Policies and/or Standard Operating Procedures.
- Experience in healthcare or research in a Higher Education setting and/or working in a complex organisation.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to organise, plan and prioritise workload within the team and across the organisation if required.
- Excellent communication skills across a variety of disciplines to explain standards and regulations.

The post is available on a fixed-term basis until 31 March 2028 in the first instance. NIHR BioResource is funded by the National Institute for Health & Care Research (NIHR) on a 4-year funding cycle.
Our offices are on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus CB2 0QQ (approximately 2 miles south of the city centre).
