Graduate Admissions Counselor (GAC)
Job Description
The Graduate Admissions Counselor (GAC) serves as a guide for prospective graduate students and undergraduate transfer students on ground and online, as they navigate the application and enrollment processes. The GAC engages in all phases of student recruitment and counseling activities, reviews admissions applications, represents the University at recruitment events, and coordinates special on and off-campus recruitment programs. Regular recruitment travel concentrated in the Fall and Spring.
Responsibilities:
- Initiating and responding to a high volume of inbound and outbound inquiries from a diverse pool of newly applied and admitted students.
- Communicate with newly applied and admitted students via telephone, email, text and virtual conferences to assist them in making informed decisions by providing timely and accurate information
- Enhance the student experience by providing high levels of customer service to prospective and new students inquiring about the University, its academic programs, admissions requirements, policies, payment options and procedures
- Ensure a positive customer experience by being available, courteous, knowledgeable, and responsive to new student needs and wants
- Scheduling and meeting with prospective students to provide a comprehensive overview of the D’Youville value proposition and the benefits of a world class education
- Developing relationships with new students by utilizing the CRM to record all interactions and customizing condition-based outreach
- Collaborates with campus colleagues across the University for the benefit of recruiting students.
- Effectively utilize the customer relationship management platform to adhere to established best-practice business processes that provide relevant information to newly admitted students throughout the discovery and decision-making phase
- Open, receptive, and willing to apply to coaching feedback
- Evening and weekend hours may be required
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited University or College
Experience:
- Preference for experience in customer service and/or sales related environments or higher education.
Skills & Abilities:
- Possess strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with current MS Office and social networking practices.
- Experience with CRM software desirable.
- Able to represent and promote the University in a competitive environment.
- Able to identify and recruit students who are desirable enrollees for the University
- Strong attention to detail.
- Possess good interpersonal skills as well as a sincere interest in student well-being and success.
- Committed to meeting all goals and objectives as established by the Executive Director of Admissions.
- Exhibit initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-resolution skills.

Work Location: Buffalo, NY
Job Type: Salaried Non - Exempt
Pay: $43,000-$48,500 Annually

The salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate.
