Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Graduate Admissions department on the Dahlonega campus. The Graduate Admissions Student Worker will assist the Office of Graduate Admissions by responding to prospective student inquiries, providing direct outreach to students, and engaging students in email and text conversations to move them along in the recruitment pipeline. Provided day-to-day administrative support to admissions staff, contributing to smooth operations and timely communication throughout the admissions cycle.
Responsibilities
- Respond to prospective student inquiries via email, phone, and in person
- Scan, upload, and manage admissions documents and files
- Support admissions staff with daily administrative and clerical tasks
- Assist with recruitment events, communications, and outreach initiatives as needed
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with institutional and federal guidelines
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Basic understanding of college or university admissions processes
- Familiarity with office practices, recordkeeping, and data entry
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar tools
- Awareness of student data privacy and confidentiality requirement
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced office environment
- Customer-service oriented with a positive, helpful attitude
