Graduate Assistant for Divisional Budget and Finance Support (Beg Fall 2026)
Job Summary
Key responsibilities for this role include the following:
Financial Reporting (35%)
- Generating and updating financial reports.
- Preparing spreadsheets for tracking expenditures and revenue.
- Assisting with month-end or quarter-end financial reporting.
Expense Reconciliation (20%)
- Reviewing and reconciling financial statements.
- Ensuring that all expenses are accounted for.
- Identifying discrepancies in financial data.
Accounts Payable/Receivable (15%)
- Assisting with processing invoices and payments.
- Helping track outstanding receivables and follow up with vendors or departments.
Budget Preparation and Analysis (10%)
- Assisting in preparing and reviewing budgets for 5-year plans.
- Helping with budget forecasting and projections.
Meeting and Communication (10%)
- Participating in meetings with department heads to discuss budget status.
- Communicating with other departments regarding financial matters.
Miscellaneous Tasks (10%)
- Supporting other budget/finance-related tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications
To be eligible for an assistantship, students must meet the following criteria:
- Students admitted provisionally to a program are not eligible for an assistantship.
- Earned a Bachelor’s degree.
- Have applied for and been accepted to a graduate degree program of study at UWG.
- Be enrolled as a full-time student in a graduate program of study.
- Have maintained a 3.0 GPA in previous and current graduate course work.
- Meet the requirements to be eligible for employment in the US.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enrolled in Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc)
- Licensed driver
Proposed Salary
- A monthly stipend of $1000.00 per month
- A tuition waiver, reducing your graduate tuition to $25 per semester plus mandatory fees as long as you are employed in your assistantship.
