Graduate Assistant for Divisional Budget and Finance Support (Beg Fall 2026)

Job Summary

Key responsibilities for this role include the following:

Financial Reporting (35%)

  • Generating and updating financial reports.
  • Preparing spreadsheets for tracking expenditures and revenue.
  • Assisting with month-end or quarter-end financial reporting.

Expense Reconciliation (20%)

  • Reviewing and reconciling financial statements.
  • Ensuring that all expenses are accounted for.
  • Identifying discrepancies in financial data.

Accounts Payable/Receivable (15%)

  • Assisting with processing invoices and payments.
  • Helping track outstanding receivables and follow up with vendors or departments.

Budget Preparation and Analysis (10%)

  • Assisting in preparing and reviewing budgets for 5-year plans.
  • Helping with budget forecasting and projections.

Meeting and Communication (10%)

  • Participating in meetings with department heads to discuss budget status.
  • Communicating with other departments regarding financial matters.

Miscellaneous Tasks (10%)

  • Supporting other budget/finance-related tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications

To be eligible for an assistantship, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Students admitted provisionally to a program are not eligible for an assistantship.
  • Earned a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Have applied for and been accepted to a graduate degree program of study at UWG.
  • Be enrolled as a full-time student in a graduate program of study.
  • Have maintained a 3.0 GPA in previous and current graduate course work.
  • Meet the requirements to be eligible for employment in the US.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Enrolled in Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc)
  • Licensed driver

Proposed Salary

  • A monthly stipend of $1000.00 per month
  • A tuition waiver, reducing your graduate tuition to $25 per semester plus mandatory fees as long as you are employed in your assistantship.
