Graduate Assistant for WOLF Radio (Beg Fall 2026)

Job Summary

The job responsibilities for this position include the following:

  • 25% Demonstrate an understanding of radio concepts using appropriate tools and technologies through weekly instruction of WOLF Radio’s WOLF In Training Program including supporting COMM 1121 through communicating effectively with its Instructor.
  • 25% Communicate with WIT students weekly outside of scheduled classes to ensure proper training checkpoints are being met, scheduling 1-on-1 or small group meetings to support necessary learning outcomes.
  • 20% Organize regular hands-on trainings with WOLF Radio and WOLF Sports Network’s student leaders and volunteers for Live Streaming/Broadcasting equipment such as Comrex, Tricaster, Wheatstone Boards, and WideOrbit.
  • 20% Collaborate with WOLF Radio and WOLF Sports Network leaders to ensure Live Stream/Broadcasts are properly staffed and broadcasters are prepared with the necessary information to fulfil broadcast needs such as station announcements, event information, sponsor obligations, etc.
  • 10% Maintain equipment

Required Qualifications

To be considered for a graduate assistantship at the University of West Georgia (UWG), students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be fully admitted to a graduate degree program at UWG. Please note: Students admitted provisionally are not eligible for assistantship positions.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Be enrolled full-time in a UWG graduate program during the assistantship period.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all previous and current graduate coursework and remain in good academic standing.
  • Meet eligibility requirements for employment in the United States.
  • Must have a degree or prior experience in media, communications, or similar area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Enrolled in the School of Communications, Film, and Media's Digital and Social Media Master's Program
  • Licensed Driver

Proposed Salary

  • A monthly stipend of $1000.00 per month
  • A tuition waiver, reducing your graduate tuition to $25 per semester plus mandatory fees as long as you are employed in your assistantship.
