Grants Accounting and Post-Award Administrator
Reporting to the Director of Grants Accounting, the Grants Accounting and Post-Award Administrator (Professional Services Specialist 3, Administrative Services) is responsible for the financial administration of sponsored research projects, ensuring compliance with federal, state, sponsor, and institutional regulations. This position plays a critical role in post-award financial management, including accounting, reporting, and monitoring of grants and contracts. The incumbent will be cross-trained in core post-award functions to provide comprehensive support and continuity within the post-award team in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college is required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field. A minimum of two years of experience in general account analysis and reconciliations in education, higher education, a non-profit or government, as well as experience in preparing and analyzing a periodic budget/forecast to actual variance report is also required. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute the above-mentioned professional experience on a year-for-year basis. A Master’s degree may be substituted for one (1) year of the above-mentioned professional experience. Preferred qualifications include: a minimum of four years in grants/restricted accounting and reporting in education, higher education, a non-profit or government; knowledge of U.S. GAAP, OMB Uniform Guidance, DHHS Regulations and NJHHS guidelines; membership in professional associations such as the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) or the Society of Research Administrators International (SRAI); and Professional certification such as CPA or CRA (Certified Research Administrator). Candidate must have proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications; the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines while maintaining focus on accuracy and attention to detail; and be a team player with strong communication and writing skills.
The selected candidate will be required to pass a four (4) month Working Test Period.

In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Law, the negotiated annual salary range for this position is: $64,340.11 - $73,256.59 (Steps 1-4). Salaries for internal applicants will be based on union negotiated calculations. This position may also be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, a retirement plan and benefits for work life balance.
