Job Description Summary
Manage proposal development, including budget and related pre-award activities for diverse sponsor portfolio. Manage post award activities including account setup, monitor and review of all sponsored projects expenditures including fund projections; identify incorrect transactions and take corrective action; reconcile, distribute internal reports. Meet with principal investigators to discuss and advise them on financial issues related to their portfolios. Monitor and enforce compliance with sponsor guidelines and OMB Uniform Guidance.
Job Responsibilities (Grants Manager A)
- Provide pre and post award research and financial administration support for individual investigators in the department
- Monitor grant expenditures for compliance and take or recommend corrective actions as needed
- Produce and distribute specialized research related financial reports for investigators
- Advise faculty within department on university policies and procedures
- Manage post award activity for department to ensure that issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner
Qualifications (Grants Manager A)
Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Grants Manager B
The Grants Manager B will work more independently and actively participate in specific projects, including the annual budget submission. The Grants Manager B will work on the more complicated grants, including training grants and program projects with multiple sub-contracts.
Job Responsibilities (Grants Manager B)
- Manage post-award processes including closeout, monitoring and review of all charges to sponsored projects, and audit requirements for federal awards
- Manage and direct proposal development, budget development and related pre-award issues for a varied sponsor portfolio
- Oversee payroll on grants and work closely with the human resources team to ensure accuracy of salary distribution
- Meet with Principal Investigators to review financial issues with their research programs
Qualifications (Grants Manager B)
Bachelor of Science and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
